Allegations of Research Misconduct

Didascein (Journal of English Education) takes all allegations of research and publication misconduct seriously and handles them in accordance with the flowcharts and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

What Counts as Misconduct

Research and publication misconduct includes fabrication or falsification of data, plagiarism, image or data manipulation, undisclosed duplicate publication, authorship disputes, citation manipulation, undisclosed conflicts of interest, undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI, and breaches of research ethics involving human participants.

How to Report

Allegations may be submitted by anyone (readers, reviewers, editors, or authors) to the Editor-in-Chief at didascein_journal@univ-tridinanti.ac.id. The report should identify the article concerned and describe the evidence. The identity of the person making the report will be kept confidential.

Procedure

  1. The Editor-in-Chief acknowledges the report within 7 working days and conducts an initial assessment of the evidence.
  2. If the allegation is credible, the corresponding author is contacted and given an opportunity to respond within 30 days.
  3. The editorial board reviews the response and, where needed, consults independent experts or the author's institution.
  4. Based on the findings, the journal may dismiss the allegation, request a correction, publish an expression of concern, retract the article, or refer the case to the author's institution.

The journal acts fairly and impartially, and no decision is made without allowing the authors to respond.
