Author Guidelines

Authors submitting a manuscript to Didascein (Journal of English Education) must follow the guidelines below. Manuscripts that do not comply may be returned to the authors before review.

1. Submission

  1. Authors must register with Didascein at https://ejournal.univ-tridinanti.ac.id/index.php/Didascein and log in to their account to submit the manuscript online.
  2. The manuscript must be original, must not have been published elsewhere, and must not be under consideration by another journal.
  3. Author details (full names, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID iDs, if available) must be entered completely in the submission metadata in OJS.

2. Format

  1. The manuscript must be written in English and prepared in an MS Word document using the journal template, available in the Article Template menu on the sidebar.
  2. Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, on A4-size paper.
  3. The manuscript is written in an essay style, with tables and figures numbered, titled, cited in the text, and placed close to where they are first mentioned.

3. Structure

The manuscript must contain the following parts:

  1. Title: no more than 14 words.
  2. Author information: full name(s) without academic titles, affiliation, and email address. The editor removes this information before the manuscript is sent to reviewers, in line with the journal's double-blind peer review.
  3. Abstract: 200–250 words, in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  4. Keywords: no more than five.
  5. Introduction (without a heading): background, review of related literature, research gap, and research purpose.
  6. Methods: preferably with subheadings (e.g., research design, participants, instruments, data collection, and data analysis).
  7. Findings and Discussion.
  8. Conclusions: including implications, limitations, and suggestions.
  9. Conflict of Interest statement: if there is none, write "The authors declare no conflict of interest."
  10. AI Use Statement (if applicable): see the journal's AI Policy.
  11. References.

4. Citation and References

  1. Citations and references must follow the APA 7th Edition style for manuscripts submitted for Volume 8 Number 1 (March 2027) onwards. Manuscripts for earlier issues follow APA 6th Edition.
  2. Authors are encouraged to use a reference manager such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
  3. References should be dominated by recent primary sources, such as journal articles, and must include a DOI wherever one is available.

5. Review and Similarity Check

  1. Each manuscript is first screened by the editorial team for its relevance to the journal's scope and its compliance with the template, then sent for double-blind peer review.
  2. The similarity index must not exceed 25%. From Volume 8 Number 1 (March 2027), authors of accepted manuscripts must upload a similarity report before copyediting, as described in the Plagiarism Policy.

6. Submission Checklist

  • The manuscript follows the journal template and these guidelines.
  • The manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • All co-authors have approved the submission and meet the journal's Authorship Criteria.
  • The similarity index does not exceed 25%.
  • References follow the required APA edition and include DOIs where available.
