Peer Review

All manuscripts submitted to Didascein (Journal of English Education) undergo a double-blind peer review: the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process. The editor ensures that all files sent to reviewers are free of author names, affiliations, and other identifying information.

From Volume 8 Number 1 (March 2027), each manuscript is reviewed by at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Manuscripts published in earlier issues were reviewed by at least one reviewer.

Review Stages

  1. Initial screening (about 1 week). The editor checks the manuscript's fit with the journal's focus and scope and its compliance with the author guidelines and template. Manuscripts that fail this stage are returned to the authors or declined without external review.
  2. Peer review (about 2–4 weeks). The editor assigns reviewers, who assess originality, relevance, methodological rigor, clarity, and the quality of references using the journal's review form.
  3. Editorial decision. Based on the reviewers' reports, the editor makes one of four decisions: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Decline. If reviewers' recommendations differ substantially, an additional reviewer may be invited.
  4. Revision (maximum 2 weeks). Authors revise the manuscript and submit a response letter explaining how each comment was addressed. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the reviewers.
  5. Final decision and production. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision. Accepted manuscripts proceed to the similarity check, copyediting, layout, proofreading by the authors, and publication.

The time from submission to first decision is typically 3–6 weeks, depending on reviewer availability. Reviewers are required to keep manuscripts confidential, not to upload them to AI tools, and to declare any conflict of interest. The final decision on publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
