Authorship Criteria
Didascein (Journal of English Education) follows the authorship recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). An individual qualifies as an author only if they meet all of the following criteria:
- made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data;
- drafted the manuscript or revised it critically for important intellectual content;
- approved the final version to be published; and
- agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions about its accuracy or integrity are appropriately investigated and resolved.
Contributors who do not meet all four criteria (for example, those who only provided funding, general supervision, language editing, or technical assistance) should be listed in the Acknowledgements section rather than as authors.
Corresponding Author
The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal during submission, peer review, and publication, and for ensuring that all co-authors have approved the submitted and final versions of the manuscript.
Changes in Authorship
Any addition, removal, or rearrangement of author names must be requested before the article is accepted. The request must be sent by the corresponding author with a written explanation and a statement of agreement from all authors, including those being added or removed. Changes after acceptance are made only in exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
Use of AI Tools
Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot take responsibility for the work. Authors who use AI tools in preparing the manuscript must disclose this, as described in the journal's AI Policy.
