Pengaruh Jarak Tanam dan Jumlah Tanaman per Lubang Tanam terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.)

This study aims to examine the effect of planting distance and number of plants per planting hole on the growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays sacchara Sturt.). This study was conducted at the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tridinanti University, located in Pulau Semambu Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province, from June 2025 to September 2025. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with six treatments and four replications. Each experimental unit consisted of three sample plants. tretreatments in this study were J1B1 (30 cm x 60 cm, 1 plant per hole), J1B2 (30 cm x 60 cm, 2 plants per hole), J2B1 (30 cm x 70 cm, 1 plant per hole), J2B2 (30 cm x 70 cm, 2 plants per hole), J3B1 (30 cm x 80 cm, 1 plant perhole) and J3B2 (30 cm x 80 cm, 2 plants per hole). The parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, weight of husked cobs, weight of corn without husk, length of husked cobs, diameter of husked cobs, weight of husked cobs per plot and weight of wet shoots. The results showed that the effect of planting distance and number of plants per hole had a very significant effect on the growth and yield of sweet corn plants with treatment J2B1 (30 cm x 70 cm, 1 plant per hole) gave the best results, indicated by the highest value in all otparameters compared to the other treatments.
