Respon Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) Akibat Penggunaan Takaran Pupuk Kandang Kotoran Sapi pada Berbagai Jarak Tanam

This study aimed to determine the response of sweet corn (Zea mays sacchara Sturt.) to cow manure fertilizer application at various planting distances. This research was conducted at the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tridinanti University, located in Pulau Semambu Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. The research was conducted from May to June 2025. This research method used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 6 (six) treatments and 4 (four) replications. The number of samples observed in each experimental unit was 4 (four) plants. The treatments in this study were P1 = 10 tons of cow dung manure / ha (7.2 kg / plot) with a planting distance of 40 cm x 30 cm, P2 = 10 tons of cow dung manure / ha (7.2 kg / plot) with a planting distance of 40 cm x 40 cm, P3 = 10 tons of cow dung manure / ha (7.2 kg / plot) with a planting distance of 40 cm x 60 cm, P4 = 20 tons of cow dung manure / ha (14.4 kg / plot) with a planting distance of 40 cm x 30 cm, P5 = 20 tons of cow dung manure / ha (14.4 kg / plot) with a planting distance of 40 cm x 40 cm and P6 = 20 tons of cow dung manure / ha (14.4 kg / plot) with a planting distance of 40 cm x 60 cm. The variables observed were: plant height and leaf area at the ages of 2, 4 and 6 WAP, cob diameter without husk, cob weight with husk per plant, cob weight without husk per plant and cob length. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the P2 treatment (10 tons of cow dung manure/ha (7.2 kg/plot) with a planting distance of 40 cm x 40 cm) produced the highest plant height at 6 WAP of 167.83 cm, the widest leaf area at 6 WAP of 2,006.13 cm2, the largest diameter of the cob without husk was 44.05 mm, the heaviest weight of the cob with husk per plant was 377.75 g, the heaviest weight of the cob without husk per plant was 319.75 g and the longest cob length was 25.63 cm.
