This study was conducted to evaluate the growth and yield responses of rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties Inpara 3 and Inpara 9 to the application of NPK fertilizer under a floating cultivation system. The experiment was carried out at Lebak Pond, Jakabaring Sport Center, Palembang, South Sumatra, from June to September 2025. A Randomized Block Design (RCBD) was employed, consisting of three levels of NPK (16:16:16) fertilizer application, namely 8.4, 9.9, and 11.4 g plant⁻¹. Observed variables included plant height, number of productive tillers, 1000-grain weight, grain weight per clump, fresh and dry biomass per clump, and number of grains per panicle. Supporting parameters such as chlorophyll content, pH, and climatic conditions were also recorded.significantly affected almost all growth and yield parameters for both rice varieties. This study demonstrates that an NPK dose of 8.4 g/pot (P1) tends to provide the most efficient and optimal growth response for floating rice in swamp land conditions. The Inpara 9 variety generally exhibited superior vegetative growth and several yield components compared to Inpara 3, as evidenced by plant height (114.67 cm); productive tillers (39.56); fresh stover weight (176.94 g); dry stover weight (103.41 g) and grains per panicle (91.00). However, Inpara 3 outperformed in specific yield components, namely 1000-grain weight (26.04 g) and grain weight per hill (70.06 g).
Amy FalilaRuarita Ramadhalina KawatyRidwan Hanan

This study aimed to determine the growth response of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) seedlings of the Bunga Mayang 1650 (BM 1650) variety to the application of chicken manure in polybags. The research was conducted at PT. Sinergi Gula Nusantara MKSO Unit Cinta Manis, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra, from 1 July to early 3 October 2025. The experimental method used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications. Each experimental unit consisted of 3 sample plants. The treatments applied were as follows: P0 = 0 grams of chicken manure/polybag, P1 = 25 grams/polybag equivalent to 5 tons/ha, P2 = 50 grams/polybag equivalent to 10 tons/ha, P3 = 75 grams/polybag equivalent to 15 tons/ha, and P4 = 100 grams/polybag equivalent to 20 tons/ha. The observed parameters included plant height (cm), number of leaves (leaves), leaf area (cm²), stem diameter (mm), number of internodes, and chlorophyll content (mg/L). The results showed that the application of chicken manure had a highly significant effect on the growth of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) seedlings. The treatment of chicken manure at 50 grams/polybag (equivalent to 10 tons/ha) produced the best results, as indicated by growth parameters such as plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, and the number of internodes had no significant effect on chlorophyll content.
Ari IqbalFaridatul MukminahDewi Meidalima

This research aims to determine the growth of rice plants of Mapan P05 and Hipa 21 rice varieties due to the application of NPK fertilizer in the floating raft cultivation system. This research was carried out in the Blackwater pool Lebak Jakabaring Sport Center area, Palembang, South Sumatera, which took place from Week 2 (Two) of June 2025 to Week 3 (Three) September 2025. The research design used is Randomized Block Design (RAK). The treatment tested consists of three levels of NPK fertilizer dosage (16:16:16), namely P1 (8.4 grams/plant), P2 (9.9 grams/plant), and P3 (11.4 grams/plant). The observed parameters consist of plant height (cm), the number of overall and productive tillers, weight of 1000 grains (g), grain weight per pot (g), dry weight per pot (g), chlorophyll content, soil pH and water pH. The research results show that the application of NPK fertilizer has a real to very real effect on almost all growth and yield parameters in both rice varieties. This study proves that the dose of NPK fertilizer 11.4 g/plant of the Mapan P05 Variety has a higher and more productive yield potential compared to the Hipa 21 Variety, shown by the total number of tillers 37, 22, the number of productive tillers 34.11, weight of 1000 grains 26.04 g, grain weight 108.90 g and dry seed weight 84,51 g, while the Hipa 21 variety is only superior in plant height of 115.04 cm.
MaharaniYuliantina AzkaMiranty Trinawaty
